You must at no time give up, never surrender, at no time think, "This blows, I’m going to lay the remainder on the Hard 4 and, if I don’t win, then I’ll say goodbye. But if I gain, I’ll be back at the start." This is the most blockheaded action you can do at the end of a bad luck day.
