Don’t Have an Alcoholic Beverage … Wager

If you like to take a beer every now and then, leave your money at home if you plan to do your consuming in a poker room. I am serious. clean out your billfold, your money belt, and leave all money, debit cards and cheques at home. Take whatever money you intend to spend on beverages, tips and whatever pocket change you plan on loosing and leave the rest behind.

Contemptuous? Not really. Practical really. You may well discover a success after a drunken night out with your buddies and be fortunate enough to hit a marathon roll at a smokin craps table. Hang on to that adventure because it’s as short-lived as it gets if you continually drink and bet. The two simply don’t mix.

Keeping your cash at home is a little excessive, however, precautionary actions for drastic actions is proportionate and necessary. If you compete to succeed, then don’t consume alcohol and wager. If you are able to afford to toss away your cash without a worry, then consume all the free booze your gut can handle, but do not take debit cards and chequebooks to toss into the combination of chasing losses once your drunk as a skunk brain loses all the cash!
