If the payout for a Do not Pass Odds wager equals the amt. of the Flat wager, then the Odds wager is bridged. The section of your Odds wager that is equal to the Flat wager is arranged directly beside to the Flat bet. Then, the rest of the Odds bet is put on top "bridging" them. For instance, suppose you put a five dollar Don’t Pass bet and the shooter rolls a point of 8. Knowing the true odds for the 8 are six:five (i.e., 6 ways to roll a seven, and 5 ways to make an 8), you then lay six dollars in Odds with the expectation of winning $5. In this example, if you win the 6 dollars Odds bet, you win $5, which absolutely equals the amt. you win with your 5 dollar Flat bet. Therefore, since your Flat wager and Odds wager win the same amount (five dollars each), you bridge your six dollars Odds wager by placing a 5 dollar chip literally beside to your $5 Flat wager, and then placing the $1 chip so it bridges the 2 five dollar chips.

If the payoff for a Don’t Pass Odds bet does not equal the amount of the Flat wager, then the Odds bet is heeled. This alludes to the fact that you position the first chip of your Odds bet chip stack exactly beside to your Flat bet. Then, place all remaining Odds bet chips on that first chip but to the side and angled on that bottom chip (your Odds bet chip stack is tilted because it is leaning on the first chip).

Flustered? That’s fine, do not get agitated. The croupier is always willing to assist if you don’t remember. After a few instances, it all makes sense. It will not take long before you’re a master. If you’re not certain what to do the first instance you attempt it, basically tell the croupier, "I want to lay some Odds but I do not comprehend if it really should be bridged or heeled." The croupier asks, "How much do you want to place?" Suppose you indicate, "Fifteen dollars to win ten." The dealer asks you to drop your chips on the table (croupiers are not allowed to collect anything, in particular chips, directly from a competitor), and then the croupier correctly heels or bridges them based on the amount of your Flat wager. You’ll quickly get the hang of it. Just do not be afraid to ask the dealer queries. His/Her job is just to deal, but also to be accommodating and help the players.
