Dice and dice games goes all the way back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but modern craps is approximately a century old. Current craps formed from the 12th Century English game referred to as Hazard. No one absolutely knows the birth of the game, however Hazard is said to have been invented by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, in the twelfth century. It’s theorized that Sir William’s horsemen enjoyed Hazard amid a blockade on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was acquired from the citadel’s name.
Early French settlers imported the game Hazard to Acadia. In the 18th century, when driven away by the English, the French relocated down south and found sanctuary in southern Louisiana where they after a while became known as Cajuns. When they departed Acadia, they took their preferred game, Hazard, with them. The Cajuns modernized the game and made it mathematically fair.
